PEDAL power will keep the films rolling, as the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival introduces a cycling cinema on September 28, at Seaclose Park.
This most unusual form of cinema relies solely on cyclists providing the power. If the pedals stop, the film stops.
To inspire cinema goers, films that have iconic bike scenes, such as ET, Belleville Rendezvous and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid have been shortlisted. But, the final decision has been left to those who will provide the power. Votes can be cast at www.sunseaandcycling.com, voting closes at noon tomorrow (Friday).
This free event encourages people to ride to the specialist cinema on their bikes and then hook up to the power.
Cllr Shirley Smart, Isle of Wight cabinet member for tourism and the economy, said: "The cycling cinema is a great addition to this year’s programme, a family event for a cycling festival that provides a range of rides for all ages and abilities."
