THE father of disabled youngster Chelsea Turner is making a colourful attempt to raise money by dyeing his hair a different colour every month, for a year.
Matthew Turner, who is getting sponsored for his efforts, came up with the idea when he saw a can of red hair dye.
The fundraising attempt started with red in June, changed to purple in July and has developed into more unusual shades.
In August, Matthew was sponsored to dye his hair green, with purple stripes, while this month, he is sporting a badger style.
He said: "I was bored one day and we had some spare red hair dye, so I thought, everyone else is helping raise funds, what can I do.
"The person who gives the highest donation gets to pick the colour for the following month."
Seventeen-month-old Chelsea, of Sandown, who was born 11 weeks prematurely, is blind and has cerebral palsy.
Matthew said: "She has been doing quite well recently, we just want to do the best we can for her."
The charity, Chelsea’s Wishes, provides facilities for the toddler.
