THIS Wednesday's Monkey final has the makings of being a thriller with three track specialists included in the line-up. NIGHT STRIPES, ILLINOIS INFERNO and CAPTAIN GORGEOUS all hold every chance but preference will be given to the latter as he looks perfectly housed in trap one.

The other three runners in the race are all decent performers on their day but may struggle to contain CAPTAIN GORGEOUS if he starts in his usual fast fashion.

With last week's sprint winner RESPECT having a week off this Wednesday, the looks clear for COLMYARD SLIPPY to gain an overdue success. His best days may now be behind him but he maintains enough class to account for his five opponents.

It was a case of shocks galore at the track last Friday, with many fancied dogs being beaten. MUMBLE RUMBLE was one of the culprits but had plenty of excuses after finding trouble from the begining of the race.

DOUBTING THOMAS was another to let the punters down, but that was largely down to lack of experience. Trained in Harlow by Jack Wilson, this promising puppy is bound to improve on last week's effort and can register his first win.

As to this weekend, if RYEFIELD KNIGHT can repeat last week's form he could take a win. He finished second in a similar race and shoould be able to go one better if he avoids serious trouble.

In the last race GLENCOE COMET is taken to follow up last week's win with another victory. This very wide runner should get a clear run and can hit the front in the closing stages.
