Monday, April 12, 2010

THE body of an Island man who died in India has been flown back to the UK, after a charity stepped in to help.

The family of 49-year-old Shanklin man John Matthews, who was found dead in Goa last month, was told it could take months or even years for his body to be flown home.

But after a story in last week’s County Press, a representative from the Lucie Blackman Trust stepped in to assist the family in bringing Mr Matthews’s body back to the UK.

An online fund has been set up by the charity to help pay some of the costs of the repatriation at www.justgiving.com/MissingAbroad
