THE man behind the hugely popular Isle of Wight fundraiser Decadeance is hosting a new night, in aid of the Oracle Cancer Trust, next month.
Tony Martin has been raising money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice since 2009 with his Decadeance event.
He has now organised A Delightfully Decadent Dinner Dance, which will also be held at Cowes Yacht Haven, on March 18.
He was motivated to create the night, following the death of close relative Nigel Sampson, 56, of head and neck cancer last year.
The Oracle Cancer Trust is the UK’s leading charity solely dedicated to funding research into head and neck cancer.
Nigel’s wife Nikki said: "Nigel endured many challenges throughout his illness, from dealing with the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy including a lack of appetite, loss of taste, difficulty eating resulting in feeding through a food tube, hair loss and immense fatigue.
"The treatment was brutal and the feelings of despair seeing a loved one struggling to eat and cope with everyday activities is heart-breaking.
"I am delighted to support Oracle Cancer Trust in their vital role in raising awareness for head and neck cancer and their vital work to improve treatments and with Decadeance so well supported people who buy tickets will know they are guaranteed a very special night."
Tickets are £50 and include a three course meal, drink on arrival, live entertainment from Groove Union and a prize draw. Tickets and information are available from decadeancenight@gmail.com
