Decision close on Blackgang car park

THE sale of Blackgang Viewpoint Car Park at Chale to the company which owns Blackgang Chine is due to be ratified in a matter of days.
Representations to current owners the Isle of Wight Council can be made until December 14 and a delegated decision could be taken as soon as three days after that.
Vectis Holdings, which owns the tourist attraction, wants to combine the car park with its adjacent land and develop an information centre and catering facility there.
In agreeing a price, the council will insist the car park remains free to entry and that there is a minimal reduction in spaces.
Before the deal is finalised there will be a further report confirming its terms and conditions.
