Decision day on cricket ground hotel

By Martin Neville

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

PLANS for a 60-bed hotel at Newclose County Cricket Ground will go back before Isle of Wight Council planners tonight (Tuesday).

Too many unanswered questions led the council planning committee to defer a decision on outline plans for the site on the outskirst of Newport at a meeting in March.

Councillors requested more information about the proposed access off Blackwater Road and overspill parking arrangements, before they made their decision.

The plans have been recommended for conditional permission.

TED, softly softly catchy monkey. Just over 40 years ago a vineyard farmer was refused permission to build a house on his vineyard. Later he needed a building as a 'bottling plant' so he got planning permission. He built it and it looked remarkably like a house. In time.............. yes you've guessed it. AND it takes in visitors!!!

Slowly slowly roof and road.
