YET another deep-fried festive treat has been added to the menu at Cowes chip shop Corries Cabin.

Following on from the success of battered Christmas pudding, sprouts and pigs in blankets in previous years, manager Derrel Mooney spent most of the year dreaming up a further Yuletide-themed treat.

Derrel said: "Last year, the sprouts were so popular it almost caught us out, so we had a think about what we could offer extra this year.

"The answer is turkey and stuffing fritters and a turkey and stuffing 'sausage’ roll.

"It’s getting more difficult to think of something different now though. We might have to look to different parts of the world for their Christmas fare."

Owner Richard Quigley added: "It is really meant as a bit of fun but the sprouts have been a real winner so far and the pigs in blankets are an even nicer version of the battered sausage, delicious. Add in a turkey fritter and its battered heaven. Who wouldn’t want that?"
