On a beautiful day in the country
In England's green and pleasant land
The humans are out in their redcoats
The humans, the horses, the hounds..
I will have to run from this cover
To the open and out of the shrubs
It's the only way I can think of
Of saving the life of my cubs.
The sound of the horn in the distance
But the baying of hounds getting near
On a beautiful day in the country
This is the day that I feared.
I've given the race of my life
But there's nowhere for me left to run
I do hope the humans in redcoats
Can say "We have had such fun".
The hounds are now upon me
My heart's given out, I am caught
On a beautiful day in the country
My death to the humans in redcoats is sport!
