RESIDENTS are being invited to take part in the country's biggest breakfast party to raise money for cancer research.

The event is being run by the national charity Cancer Research UK and Kellogs, which also hopes to raise the importance of dietary fibre as a step toward good health.

Dartford MP Dr Howard Stoate, who joined 60 fellow MPs for a breakfast pancake, to launch the event, said: "This is a wonderful initiative which we all hope will help Cancer Research UK work up an appetite for healthy eating."

Cancer Research UK's communication's director Susan Osbourne said: "You can join in the fun by making a date with your friends, colleagues or neighbours. By donating £1 each, you can play an essential role in this national awareness and fundraising event."
