POLICE are making a fresh appeal for witnesses after a road accident near Ryde.

A man aged in his 30s received cuts and bruises to his face and arms after falling off a bicycle on Quarr Hill at 12.45pm on Friday, July 9.

Officers are investigating an allegation that a car collided with the cyclist, causing him to fall off.

The car was described as a light sky blue-coloured Vauxhall Astra, which was being driven towards Newport at the time.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or information as Quarr Hill was known to have been busy with traffic that morning.

Anyone with information can contact PC Dan Adkinson at Shanklin Police Station by phoning 101 or 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
