THE Isle of Wight can 'rally round' residents - thanks to a new digital network designed to help organise support for those in need.
Rally Round will enable family members, friends and carers to create and organise support for themselves or someone they care about.
It will allow users to create a secure online network of people they know and trust to help out with day-to-day tasks.
Users can add to a 'to do' list and others can volunteer to do specific tasks on the list.
Originally designed to help frail older people and their family carers, it can also be used for a variety of other tasks - from coordinating volunteers to arranging the school run.
Age UK Isle of Wight chief executive Jo Dare said: "So much can be achieved when communities rally around an individual to help them when they are in need, whether they are a family member, friend or neighbour. Rally Round allows for those day-to-day tasks to happen in a coordinated where everyone has the opportunity to provide support and to be kept in the loop. We believe that Rally Round will enable our Good Neighbours scheme to help even more people."
