Disco ball challenge for Bestival

Rob da Bank accepts Nile Rodgers challenge to bring the world's biggest disco ball to Bestival on the Isle of Wight this September.

DISCO legend Nile Rodgers has thrown down the gauntlet to Bestival organiser Rob da Bank today (Friday), challenging him to bring the world’s biggest disco ball to the Isle of Wight event.

Nile, who is to headline Sunday night at this year’s Bestival, made the demand, in return for bringing a special guest to the show.

"I want to have a special guest. I don’t know who, but someone who is integral to my life and the whole disco scene and the Studio 54 scene, and I want you to promise me that if I pull that off that you can get me the world’s biggest disco ball," he said.

The current record stands at 10m and Rob da Bank has promised to beat it in September.
