DOLLY the sheep was one of the stars of the Sunday Club’s Nativity at St Michael’s Church, Shalfleet.

Dolly the Dorset was shepherded to the church on Sunday by local farmer Mike Morris, who also brought a 100-year-old shepherd’s crook.

Dolly was in the Sunday Club cast for the Nativity, written by former member Sophie Dyer, now a Christ the King College student.

It was performed by Sunday Club members, in costumes made by Gay Cook, who works at Shalfleet Primary School.

One of the Sunday Club leaders, Carla Bradshaw, said: "It was a brilliant production.

"We also took the opportunity to present a cheque for more than £100 raised by the club for the Island RSPCA and flowers to one of our leaders, Justine Bacon, who was with us for seven years."
