LITTLEBROOK power station in Dartford opened its doors to the public for a behind-the-scenes tour.

Almost 200 visitors saw the station's massive 685 megawatt generators, the high-tech control room, and the latest emission control equipment.

Production manager Jim Ryan was one of the guides and he said: "We are proud of the work we do at Littlebrook to generate electricity as cleanly and efficiently as possible and we are delighted so many people came along to learn about the processes."

Nine-year-old Matthew Earl, from Henderson Drive, Dartford, won a mountain bike at the National Power marquee at the Dartford Festival.

He was presented with the bike on his visit to the power station.
