A DRAGONS’ Den style event brought community groups together in Bembridge to bid for cash through the village partnership at the weekend.

Seven shortlisted groups pitched their Dragons' Den-style applications at the Bembridge Youth and Community Centre in front of 'dragons' Keith Cook, of the village partnership, parish councillor Denise Grannum, Robin Maconchy, heritage society chair, lifeboat coxon Steve Simmons and Sheila Weedall of Green Towns and the village partnership.

The money was from funds allocated to the village partnership by the parish council at the beginning of the year.

To find out how they got on and for more pictures, please see the Isle of Wight County Press on Friday, February 21.

Can only thank the "Dragons" for the money Bembridge Cricket Club received. It will go a long way to supporting the team!

This is just a little bit bizarre.
