Give us a goal - that's the plea from supporters as the Dons goal drought shows no sign of ending.

Joe Kinnear brought in lanky striker Carl Leaburn from Charlton in an attempt to end their miserable run in front of goal.

But he just became another Dons striker to fire blanks during their dull 0-0 draw with Derby County at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

No Wimbledon striker has scored a goal in the Premiership since November 10, when Marcus Gayle scored a headed goal against Leicester.

This latest setback leaves Kinnear's men just four points above bottom club Barnsley and with a desperate goal tally of just 21 goals so far this season.

Only the bottom four - Palace, Spurs, Bolton and Barnsley - have scored less.

And unless Kinnear can find a solution to the Dons' scoring crisis, they will find themselves staring relegation in the face.

Although Derby's defence was stern and resolute there is no denying the fact that the performances of Gayle and Leaburn in attack were poor.

With Jason Euell and Efan Ekoku absent Wimbledon were toothless in front of goal.

However, credit should be given to the creative talents of Kenny Cunningham, Michael Hughes and Neal Ardley.

For all of the crosses and cutting passes that they supplied, Gayle and Leaburn should have got somewhere near the target.

Instead just over 13,000 fans made their way home wondering why they bothered.

Now Wimbledon face a tricky tie at the McAlpine Stadium when they face Huddersfield Town in an FA Cup fourth round tie.

The first division strugglers pushed the Dons to the limit in the same competition in recent years narrowly losing after a replay.
