THIEVES have stolen drugs from two veterinary surgeries on the Isle of Wight.
The drugs were stolen from surgeries in Chapel Street, Newport and Sandown Road, Sandown, during July.
The stolen drugs include Dolethal — a euthanasia product for animals, Sedator — an animal sedative, Atipam – reverses sedative effects in animals, Vetergesic — Postoperative analgesia, Diazepam and Ketamine.
Police are warning members of the public not to experiment with unknown substances following the thefts.
Detective Constable Zoe Church, from Newport police station, said: "The stolen substances are only intended for use on animals under veterinary supervision. If you find these drugs you should contact the police immediately and avoid handling them.
"I would also like to warn those people who may consider experimenting by accepting offers of drugs. You need to ask yourself whether you seriously know what ingredients make up the substance you’re thinking of taking. Your decision to experiment could have terrible consequences for your health, life and family."
