RESCUE crews on the Isle of Wight were scrambled in the early hours of this morning (Friday) over fears someone could be in trouble in the sea.
Cowes RNLI Lifeboat, Bembridge coastguard team and police searched the waters and shore at East Cowes, after a resident reported hearing noises and possibly seeing a light at sea.
Following an hour-long search from 4am, during which nothing was found, it was agreed the noises had probably been made by someone on the shore, a Cowes RNLI spokesman said.
