Eco effort misses out

I am actually all for an Eco Island, but this group is doing it the wrong way. There are already exiting groups on the Island that could do better with the money Eco Island has, and be productive, and work efficiently together with local communities. I think in the long term, "Eco Island" is damaging the good work existing groups already do. I will be at work when the summit happens. it sounds to me like it's more of a trade fair than a summit.

Mark, he has 4 companies "on the go", 3 greenlights, a PR/Marketing PLC, reg.July '06, Ecoisland CIC, reg. 17/2/11, both registered to his home address, Ecoisland Energy Services registered on 9 May 2012 at a business park in Poole and Ecoisland IOW Energy Services LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) registered 5/10/2012 in Hanover Street London W.1, so will have to produce 4 sets of account.
Why don't you pop along to the "Global Summit" at Cowes Yacht Haven on 17th and ask some questions.

The interesting thing about the accounts will be, David Green also has a company called 3 Green Lights, are they paid to do stuff by Eco Island so he is taking 2 salaries? There is also a new Green Initiative company being created by Eco Island, will he be a Director and gain a 3rd salary from this as well?

Peter, I take it that you won't be signing up to "Community Energy" then?
SSE would pay Egoisland £10 if you did and you would get £1 a month refund from your bill.
I'm loving the way Mr. Green is scrabbling around on Twitter trying to get "bums on seats" with the help of the galloping granny buzzing around him.
And, Mark, I think I am right in saying that he will publish accounts on 17 November.
Be interesting to see how much he pays himself for working so hard on our behalf.

Do you REALLY want your energy/heating/cooking/lighting independence usurped by this man who is unelected and has no mandate or authority to act on your behalf?

Very interesting story in The Sunday Times on 23 Sept., which has the headline: "TURN OUT THE LIGHTS, ISLE OF WIGHT".
This contains such sentences as:"Homes and businesses across the Isle of Wight will experience similar temporary power cuts as day-to-day control of their electrical appliances is taken away."
Yes, ladies and gents, Mr. Green will decide if and when you get electricity.
Houses will get a home energy management system and this HEMS will be CONTROLLED by Ecoisland.
Of course you will not read or hear any of this in the Island media, because they all support this madcap scheme.
But if you want to retain control of your household heating and electrical appliances, then go and read the article and tell Mr. Green "no thanks".

...or it's books to be seen by the public as promised some time ago. Being a Community Interest Company, you really need to keep the community interested and not just your friends, and ex UKSA staff.

It might be because the Brighton project has produced results that can be seen and experienced, whereas Eco Island seems to talk a lot, has provided 2 electric cars with questionable sustainability as you have to charge them by using the grid, so not green ( yet ) and still hasn't allowed turbines on the Island, or it's books.

We would however like to send out the biggest thank you in the world to all of our treasured community members that voted! We saw real dedication to the Island in the run up to Saturday - especially from Lyn & Co and her Wightbuzz members!!
