Elderly man injured in accident

POLICE are investigating a report of an elderly man who is said to have been injured in a collision in Ryde on Monday.

It is alleged a dark-coloured Ford Mondeo was reversing from George Street into Roundhouse Mews at 11.45am on Monday when the car was in collision with a 70-year-old man who was standing on the pavement.

The man fell and received chest and knee injuries. He went to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses or anyone with information can call PC Russ Skinner at Ryde Police Station by telephoning 101. Information can also be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity.
