Elderly pedestrian hurt in crash

AN ELDERLY pedestrian has been injured in a collision today (Thursday).

The crash occurred at around 10.10am at the junction of Regent Street and Falcon Cross Road, Shanklin.

The woman was taken to St Mary's Hospital having suffered leg injuries according to an Isle of Wight NHS PCT spokeswoman.

*A family member contacted the County Press to confirm the woman had been using a walking frame, not a mobility scooter, at the time of the accident.
