ISLAND Con will boldly go where no man has gone before with their latest guest announcement.

American TV and film actor, Ethan Phillips, will be welcomed on to the Island in 2018.

Best known as the Talaxian 'Neelix' in Star Trek: Voyager, Ethan appeared throughout the franchise, in Next Generation, First Contact, Enterprise and Of Gods and Men.

The organisers also announced that a new zone will feature at the event.

They wrote online: "With the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom released in Summer of 2018, and the IW being one of the richest dinosaur areas in Europe, we are proud to present Dino Zone."

It will include a full dinosaur display with loads of elements including two large interactive dinosaur attractions and there will be baby dinosaurs on show with a full fossil display and real-life dinosaur handlers and rangers.

Island Con returns to Cowes on October 20 and 21 and will be hosted at Cowes Enterprise College.
