BOOKER Juniors badminton star Gemma Brown raced away with the top prize at The English Schools Badminton Association's U15 Standard Challenge.
The event in Doncaster attracted the country's top players and the 14-year-old from Saunderton beat Yorkshire's Katie Wright 15-11 in the final.
Katy Brydon had a baptism of fire in this year's Yonex All England Badminton Open when she played number one seed Zhou Mi of China.
The 23-year-old from High Wycombe was beaten convincigly by Mi, 7-2, 7-3, 7-0, in only 23 minutes yesterday morning.
