BUSINESS A FORMER fisherman hopes by moving the family-run Bembridge firm, The Best Dressed Crab in Town, nearer to where the daily catch is landed, it will attract a lot more custom.

Graham Henley, born into a Bembridge family with fishing very much in its genes, is putting the final touches to his new processing unit, on a floating pontoon, at Fisherman’s Wharf, Embankment Road, Bembridge Harbour.

The 44 year old, of Lane End Road, who served as a member of the Bembridge lifeboat crew for 19 years, hopes to open the new-look company, established by his sister, Tina Henley, in 1996.

The Best Dressed Crab in Town, which was formerly run from Miss Henley’s home in Hillway Road, Bembridge, specialises in the preparation of freshly caught crab, lobster, shellfish and its seafood platters and supplies eating establishments and shops in the area.

Mr Henley said: "I’ve been a fisherman all my life and I decided to retire from it to spend more time with my family.

"It makes sense to be where the fishermen are and to be located on a busy stretch of road, with a car park.

"The benefits of taking over the business is there will be continuity in keeping the family business going and, being an experienced fisherman, I know a good quality catch when I see it."
