EXTRA car ferry crossings between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight will be run today to help Christmas shoppers ahead of impending bad weather.
Wightlink have announced the additional ferries in order to help people trying to get across the Solent before the weather deteriorates.
High winds and heavy rainfall are due to hit the Isle of Wight today and tomorrow (Christmas eve).
A spokesperson said: "With bad weather forecast, Wightlink is running extra sailings this afternoon (Monday) on car ferries between Portsmouth and Fishbourne to help customers travelling before Christmas."
The extra sailings will run from Portsmouth Gunwharf at: 13.30, 15.30, 17.30
From Fishbourne (Isle of Wight) at: 14.30, 16.30, 18.30

Its worth noting yarmouth to lymington ferrys have beeb suspended due to high winds, I was on the last one this morning and ventured out on open deck.. nearly got blown clean off my feet... was great fun....,
