AN EXTRA commuter service has been put on by cross-Solent operator Hovertravel.
The company says it has added an 8.30am hovercraft service from Ryde to Southsea to respond to commuter demand.
Hovertravel managing director Neil Chapman said: "We are always listening to the needs of customers so we can ensure our services suit their schedules.
"Feedback over the last month revealed an extra service during the morning commuter peak period would make a big difference to our Isle of Wight commuters.
"To ensure Hovertravel develops in a way that benefits our customers, we have been running a Hovertravel User Group (HUG).
"This group, made up of a small number of regular travellers, meets quarterly to voice issues and improvements direct with Hovertravel’s management."
Hovertravel has also launched a new loyalty voucher scheme.
Those who purchase an adult six-month season card, Adult 250 travel card or Triple Term card can claim for 20 single Appreciation vouchers that are valid for one single journey and can be transferred to friends and family.
Customers who purchase an adult 12-month season card can claim for 40 Appreciation vouchers.
