Jean Oliver, 82, nicknamed "Miss Oliver" by residents at the home for disabled ex-servicemen, has dedicated 20 years to the home.
Presenting the award, announced in the New Year's Honours List, HM the Queen congratulated Miss Oliver on her devotion and service to the home.
During her time at the home Miss Oliver has edited the residents' magazine and has run the residents' music and jazz clubs.
