THE NUMBER of Halloween calls to police dropped compared with last year.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary recorded 197 calls about anti-social behaviour, 102 less than last year, between 4pm and 11.59pm yesterday (Wednesday).
In the run up to Halloween, the police distributed thousands of 'No trick or treat' posters to vulnerable and elderly residents for them to display.
Shops were advised to put up signs saying flour and eggs would not be sold to anyone under 16.
Hampshire Constabulary’s website, where the posters could be downloaded, received over 4,000 hits in the days before Halloween.
