Abandoned tents at last year's festival.
ISLEof Wight festival-goers are being urged to 'love their tent' for a chance to win tickets to next year's event.
Following the success of the festival's Let It Bee project, created by sustainability experts the Eco Action Partnership, this year's green campaign — launched yesterday on Valentine's Day — is aimed at encouraging people to reuse their tents.
One in six people left their tent onsite following last year's festival and it is hoped the Love Your Tent campaign will reduce the number of abandoned tents and camping equipment sent to landfill.
Festival-goers at this year's event will be able to get involved by signing up to The Tent Commandments in return for an Ecoisland Greenback loyalty card, to claim discounts on goods and services across the Island and onsite.

Another idea would be to give the abandoned tents to a charity to be given to homeless people.

The rubbish build up on the island starts as soon as they get off the ferry. Last year people were urinating on walls. Why can't these people take their tents home. ....
