GET READY for an eclectic weekend of indie pop, post punk, rock and disco at the Isle of Wight Festival’s Big Top.
New acts announced include singer songwriter and hit record producer Calvin Harris, American rock band Mercury Rev, energetic rockers The Rakes and indie kids The Maccabees — all of whom will perform on Saturday.
Sunday sees Tim Burgess, frontman of iconic Brit-pop band The Charlatans, headline the stage alongside the acts he hand picked to perform, including Killing Joke, The Horrors and New York indie act The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Also on the bill are Black Lips, Hatcham Social, S.C.U.M, Poppy and the Jezebels and Dance for Burgess, plus DJ sets.
Tim said: “The Isle of Wight Festival is one festival I really look forward to and it’s a really great opportunity to pick the bands I love.”
Festival promoter John Giddings added: “We are really excited to have someone of Tim’s calibre curating the Big Top.”
