A LEAKING 34ft motor cruiser on its way to the Isle of Wight Festival was assisted by Cowes RNLI lifeboat last night (Wednesday).

The cruiser, Dragon, with two men and a woman on board, was making its way from Port Solent, Portsmouth to the River Medina for the Isle of Wight Festival when, at 9.30pm, the skipper called Solent Coastguard for help.

The lifeboat met the motor cruiser in Osborne Bay where the lifeboat's portable pump was put on board and the vessel was escorted to Cowes Yacht Haven.
