A CATFORD secondary school has appointed its first-ever head girl.

St Dunstan's College, in Stanstead Road elected Nadia Messina the first female student leader in its 112-year history.

Nadia, 17, is studying for her A-levels in French, drama, politics and religious studies and was elected by her fellow pupils and teachers to lead the school.

She is hoping to go on to study modern languages at either Oxford or Durham University.

She said: “I am honoured and privileged to be chosen the first girl to head the School.

“I look forward to representing the College and my fellow pupils to the best of my abilities during my final year.”.
