THE Isle of Wight's EcoIsland Community Interest Company boss David Green is fighting for votes in a competition that could net £10,000 for an allotment project.

Mr Green was second place in the Team Green Britain vote, which closes at 10am tomorrow (Saturday), just two per cent behind the poll leader, who represents a project in Brighton.

The EDF-backed competition will give £10,000 to the winner for a project in their area.

On the Isle of Wight, Mr Green wants to use the money for a project to create more allotments.

We would like to thank everyone that has voted already and all future voters! There is now only 1% between us and the leader - exciting times!
