Jim Towers, who played at Griffin Park between 1953-61 and holds the record number of goals scored by any Bees player (180) in the club's history.

He said: "He (Noades) should get somebody else to manage the team. If I was the manager I would have got the sack after a season like that.

"It is the only club I know where the chairman is also the manager, he picks the team. Noades should put Ray Lewington in charge.

"The chairman should be the chairman and not get involved with the managing."
