Fire hits holiday centre

BRIGHSTONE Holiday Centre was hit by a fire in its swimming pool block early this morning (Sunday).

Two Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service appliances attended the fire, which broke out in an electricity box at 5.22am.

The fire was quickly extinguished and crews remained on scene for just over an hour damping down.

Nobody was hurt.

One appliance from Newport and one from Freshwater attended the centre, on the Military Road.
