Fire in St Helens house

ISLE of Wight Fire and Rescue Service crews were last night (Tuesday) called to a blaze in a house at St Helens.

The fire broke out at around 9.10pm at a property in Lower Green Road.

Three appliances, from Bembridge, Ryde and Newport, were sent to the scene.

*A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was over by around 10.15pm and there were no reports of injury.

The fire was understood to have been contained within the loft.
