Fire in Ventnor

FIREFIGHTERS were called after a blaze broke out in Ventnor this morning (Tuesday).

At least one property in St Catherine’s Street is understood to have been affected and three fire engines were sent to the scene at 11.40am.

A spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire was in an airing cupboard on the first floor. All persons were accounted for."

The fire was extinguished by 12.30pm.
