Firefighters called to crash scene

A CAR overturned, trapping one person, yesterday evening (Thursday).

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service said it was called to School Green Road, Freshwater at 8.45pm following a report of a crash involving a single vehicle.

The car overturned and firefighters were called to help free a trapped occupant.

At 9.42pm Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the person had been freed from the vehicle and was in the care of the ambulance service.

*A St Mary's Hospital spokewoman said today (Friday) that the man had been taken to accident and emergency, but had now been discharged.
