Firefighters extinguish East Cowes fire

ISLE of Wight firefighters were called to reports of thick smoke from a cooking fire at Well Road, East Cowes, this afternoon (Sunday).

Two appliances attended the property after receiving a 999 call soon after 5.15pm.

They forced entry to the property, extinguished the fire and vented the terraced house in an operation lasting an hour.

No-one was reported to have been injured.
