FIREWORKS planned for New Year's Day in Sandown have been postponed — again — due to forecast bad weather.

Sandown Carnival Association said that the display would be rescheduled in the future after the Met Office issued a yellow "Be Aware" warning for the south coast of the UK.

A spokesman said that the revised arrangements for the display, which was also cancelled in November due to bad weather, would be revealed as soon as possible.

With the Council proposing to make so many cut backs this year, would not be wise to put the money for fireworks towards something useful rather see it go up in smoke?
