The Jolly Dodger. Picture by Cowes RNLI.
A broken-down fishing boat, which was in danger of drifting into the Solent’s busy main shipping lane, was brought to safety by Cowes RNLI lifeboat.
The 12ft Jolly Dodger, with two anglers aboard, alerted Solent Coastguards that it was unable to re-start its engine after fishing off East Cowes at around 3pm today (Friday).
The lifeboat was launched and towed the craft to Cowes Yacht Haven.
Picture shows the lifeboat alongside the crippled Jolly Dodger.
