Cambridge smashed the boat race record and claimed their sixth victory in a row on Saturday.

Thousands of people lined the River Thames at Putney to see the light blues take an early lead.

Both teams beat the old course record of 16 minutes 55 seconds set by Oxford in 1984.

But it was Cambridge who won comfortably in 16 minutes and 19 seconds to take both the race and the record.
