FIXED link campaigners on the Isle of Wight have launched a survey to find out what people think about a study being undertaken into the issue.
Campaigners from Pro-Link, the organisation set up in favour of a fixed link tunnel between the Isle of Wight and the mainland, want to find out whether people support an independent study into the feasibility of a link, and what concerns people have.
The online survey asks whether people think alternatives to the current cross-Solent travel options should be investigated, whether a study should be launched, and what issues residents would want a study to focus on.
It also aims to find out whether people want a fixed link at all.
Carl Feeney, chair of Pro-Link, said: "In the absence of a fixed link referendum that Andrew Turner MP and the Isle of Wight Council suggest is not possible, the results of this survey can be used as a clear alternative indicator of public sentiment.
"The survey will have its results published from March 31, in order for the May 2017 council election prospective councillors to view them, as they present their campaign manifesto."
