Lightning over Sandown Bay. Photograph by Jamie Russell of Island Visions Photography.
PHOTOGRAPHER Jamie Russell captured these incredible photographs as lightning flashed over the Isle of Wight last night (Monday).
After days of hot weather, thunder storms were reported around much of the Isle of Wight during the night.
Jamie, of Island Visions Photography, grabbed his camera and took these pictures showing lightning over Sandown Bay and St Catherine's (below).

I think what you have to do is leave your camera on a tripod with the lens open - sadly I don't think I can do that with my rather cheapo camera

Love the St Catherine's pic. Looks like a scene from an alien invasion movie.
