A FLOOD alert has been issued for an Isle of Wight river this morning (Tuesday).
The alert for the Eastern Yar was issued by the Environment Agency at 7.11am and warned that river levels were expected to peak tonight.
"River levels in the Eastern Yar have responded to overnight rainfall.
"The rainfall will continue to fall steadily until mid afternoon today (Tuesday). Levels will increase beyond this time and peak during Tuesday night.
"However, more rain is forecast Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. This alert is likely to remain in force, maybe up to Thursday.
"This alert is specifically for the upper reaches of the catchment at Alverstone to Langbridge."

When flooding occurs now, which houses have to take care and if Arreton goes ahead, how many more will come into the catchment and see houses flooded? More neglect by the Council?
