A SPECIAL flower festival is to be held to mark the end of the refurbishment of an Enfield church.
More than £250,000 has been spent on the works at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St George in London Road, all of which came from kind-hearted parishioners' pockets.
More than 60 arrangements by the Enfield Floral Club, on the theme of the 'Glory of God', are promised at the free event, which is to be held over the weekend of Saturday, May 13.
The new-look church has been designed by Stephen Foster, famed for his work on Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral.
All money raised from contributions at the festival will go towards providing a minibus for the elderly, for people with special needs and youth projects.
