FLOODING is expected in Cowes, East Cowes and Newport tonight (Sunday).
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning the Isle of Wight towns and urged residents to be prepared.
Water levels are predicted to be high around slipways at Cowes, particularly at high tide at 10.59pm, and properties on the slipway next to the floating bridge are at risk of flooding.
The tide will also be high around Newport, although properties are not expected to flood.
Sandbags are available at St Mary's car park, Cowes, and Well Road car park, East Cowes. Newport residents can request sandbags from Island Roads by calling 822440.
*22.02 According to Island Roads, flooding has been reported at Beaper Shute, Brading, Furrlongs, Newport, and Blackwater Road, at the junction with Blackwater Hollow. Drivers are advised to avoid the areas.
*23.03 Cowes floating bridge has been suspended due to a high tide. It will be back in service as usual tomorrow morning, according to the Isle of Wight Council.
*23.45 Princes Esplanade, Cowes, is almost impassable due to severe flooding, according to Island Roads. There have also been reports of flooding at East Cowes seafront.
