A ROAD was closed in Shanklin last night (Wednesday) when a flat was flooded.

Water from an unoccupied flat above the property cascaded into Avenue Road at around 8.30pm.

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene and asked for Avenue Road to be closed to allow the water supply to be isolated. The road was later re-opened.
