A GERMAN lorry driver pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of a father and his two children by dangerous driving.

Martin Dawson, 41, of Rowden Road, Beckenham, and his two children Laura, 13, and Robert, nine, from The Grove, West Wickham, were being driven by their father's girlfriend on the M11 near Harlow, in Essex, on August 24.

Egon Boerner, aged 48, from Schmalcalden in Germany, crashed his heavy goods vehicle into traffic on the southbound carriageway killing Mr Dawson and his two children.

Appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 2, the German also pleaded guilty to causing the death of Roger Farley, 45, from East Sussex.

Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said: "You are to expect a substantial custodial sentence for these offences."

The case was adjourned for sentencing on May 13.
